Soap lessons–Day 1 & 2

Day One of my soap lessons, we learned about the “theory” of soapmaking. Then we moved on to melt and pour method. Hands on, in class, we came home several beautiful pieces of artwork. At least, I think it’s art~

Day Two was this past Wednesday. We made soap from scratch, well, with raw ingredients. Just a basic recipe, for household cleaning use. We haven’t got to doing anything fancy yet, but now I have a better idea what happens in the soap making process. We came home with a big lump of soap, which needed to wait overnight. Yesterday, I pulled it out to cut. For a first-timer cutting soap, I noticed right away, it’s not so easy to cut. But I cut the lump into 10 pieces reasonable for the palm. Now my soap is sitting, awaiting a month to go by before I can use.
