Millie, be brave!

Whenever Millie is frightened, her legs are shakey and she plops down on the floor in a split with her legs going outward.

First night, when I called to her, she was afraid to come out of her den. To get her out I had to lift her right out.

When I placed her in the bathroom, which has a small ledge, she was too afraid to even cross out of the bathroom.

But, she’s getting braver. Now she prances around happily on the floor as I walk about the room. However, she’s too short so she can’t jump up on me like Mia used to.

The first night she whined several times at night. I think she was lonely since she came from a family of many many dogs.

When I left for work yesterday, I felt sorry for her, because I had to leave her on her own with Cha Cha. She must have thought I was abandoning her.

I came home to a very happy Millie, tail wagging showing her excitement. When I let her out, she pranced around joyfully. Millie needs to learn to walk not underfoot though. I’m always afraid I’ll step on her as she walks so close to me.

Millie needs to learn to walk on a leash also. While in Taoyuan, we tried putting her on a leash and she plopped right down again. Anny said she hadn’t been out much not to mention being on a leash. I guess overall the experience was terrifying for her.

I must say, she didn’t whine last night tho. I heard a few whimpers but nothing loud enough for neighbors to hear. I think that’s great improvement!
