I set a goal~ Thousand minutes of exercise per month. Watch me go!

As for the plan? Well, I’m doing belly dancing again! It’s a fun way of working out although I dance horribly!
Other than that, Millie and I walk/run short distances! Oh and I still have my Mini (stationary bike).

過年這幾天

今年過年我去南投住幾天
初二回到台北

過年期間大部分的公司行號及公家機關都休息著
我初三至初五也要上班有人問怎麼要上班阿
我都笑著回答阿就配合國外阿細節也懶的解釋了
這麼多年了也習慣了

今年是我頭次過年不用顧櫃檯
之前是職位的關係過年要留守
2010 6月起當秘書之後
後來也有新的櫃檯人員上任
不過由於她是南部北上工作的
難得過年長假她也要回家鄉過年
於是我繼續代班顧櫃檯

今年因為有人請產假
人事上內部有調動
今年櫃檯有新人來
讓我這麼多年來
第一次過年不需要顧櫃檯

不過我還是進公司上班
不然也不好長期打擾人家

昨晚初三
毓祺的爸爸邀請我到家裡吃飯
所以昨天下了班趕緊去接米粒
帶著米粒去毓祺他們家作客

米粒玩的好開心
滿屋子到處衝衝衝
最崇拜的大概是黃爸爸
因為掌廚的黃爸爸手上隨時有好吃的東西

今晚大姨約吃飯
下班後要去吃西堤

Posting from the mountains of Nantou, central Taiwan.
Millie and I are in Nantou for a long weekend.
In the mornings, the beauty of the mountains and clouds are as close as can be!
This peacefulness is rarely found in busy and bustling Taipei.

過年台灣放長假
我跟米粒來到南投山上
早上起來隨時看得到高山與美麗雲層
這裡的寧靜是都市裡沒有的

Millie likes to tag along everywhere I go. As soon as I pulled out my carry on luggage, in attempt to pack up for our trip to Nantou, Millie became anxious. She kept circling the opened luggage, and when I wasn’t looking, she made herself all nice and comfy in it! I guess she figures this way she won’t be left behind. How am I supposed to pack up when Millie is sleeping in the luggage!

看到我拿出行李箱整理行李
準備去南投山上過年
她忙著在箱子旁邊轉阿轉
似乎很緊張我又要出遠門
把她留在台北

一轉眼趁我在忙沒注意時
她直接跳到箱子裡去卡好位
好怕沒跟上~

傻妞~
每次去南投都有帶妳阿
怎麼緊張成這樣?
妳睡在行李箱裡面
我要怎麼打包阿?

今天是我們公司的尾牙
今年在西餐廳辦我們的尾牙
主管們也集合起來為我們表演助興

據說今年的主題色是紅色喜氣的紅色
於是我今天穿了我的大紅外套
這件是媽媽和我在萬華一起逛看到買的
想說可以搭配我的黑色小洋裝或是只要裡面搭著黑色
就整個色彩亮起來

以前在國外女生都要備有黑色小禮服
應為它是很正式的適合婚喪喜慶各種場合
來到台灣發現很多場合黑色不適用
有了這件紅外套參加婚禮過年都很應景

耶誕節前一週我拿出來第一次把它穿到公司
同事們看到都說好看好看!
我說我準備參加 Hannah 的婚禮時也要穿去

那幾天同事P請我幫她及家人包裝耶誕禮物
喜歡包裝的我利用休息時間很快的分批包完了
最後一天她除了給家人的東西外
也為我準備了一份大禮物是一個大包包
她說要給我搭配我的大紅外套的
個人覺得真的很搭呢~

感謝P送我的特別的禮物!
今天尾牙我又把它們搬出來用了

昨天下班後跟李伯伯李阿姨一起去飲茶
每份點心都是三個一份
李阿姨說以後我們要常常一起來
而且一定要三個人一起
李伯伯也爽朗的說好啊

吃完後我去了高中母校
上次補辦的畢業證明書有誤
需要再跑一趟

結果經過查證後
系統資料是錯的
還好調出來的入學時的學籍卡
資料是對的
所以他們當場幫我從新印製新的畢業證明書

以前的歷史老師目前是教務主任了
上次他就一眼認出我跟貓咪

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Our view of Taipei 101

Millie and I went up to the rooftop to see the fireworks just before midnight. Many people from our building invited friends and family to come over as we have a nice view of Taipei 101.

Year 2011 is coming to an end!

Hard to believe, but the year 2011 has flown by in a flash. A lot has happened, good things and great challenges. Originally planned to have some friends over for New Year’s Eve but that has been cancelled. I’ll prob take Millie up to the roof top to see the Taipei 101 fireworks. I haven’t seen them although I’ve lived in Taipei for several years now. The building I live in now is close enough to see the fireworks from the roof top.

Christmas Eve I spent in Taoyuan at Hannah & Rick’s wedding. It had a touch of Christmas with Santa suited groomsmen and cute bridesmaids with Rudolph antlers. It had modern touch with the bride and groom updating their facebook status to married at the wedding banquet. At the wedding, we wrote on note cards of blessings for the newlywed, and somehow my card got drawn, so I got a gift from them.

On Christmas Day, I woke up early and went to church with a collegue. He and his church had prayed for me and even stopped to visit me when I was in the hospital. It was a small church but I think the most amazing thing is, they sang my favorite song. Everything else that was sung were Christmas songs, such as Silent Night, Hark the Herald etc. But then they sang my favorite, 愛我願意! That has always been my favorite song and it always touches me deeply. Imagine how I felt seeing it listed on the program that day.

Met up with a couple of friends for a Christmas lunch at Tasty’s.

This cute display was right at the entrance. We got extra servings of dessert and a small gift due to th long wait period.

There’s a lot more Christmas decos around town now compared to before. The reindeers below I captured in the MRT station in Banqiao.

A special student in my Friday / Saturday class

In my weekend class the past few weeks, I’ve had two very special students. This beautiful Lab is a full-time guide dog, and she comes to class with her owner who is blind. For privacy reasons, I won’t list out their names.

Here she is sitting nice and tall for a photo. It was raining that day, so she had a rain coat on.

Below is her usual in-class position. She snaps into position as soon as her owner prepares to stand up.

Guide dogs aren’t very common in Taiwan yet, and there are only as few as 28 licensed guide dogs in Taiwan, according to the Taiwan Guide Dog Association.

It was such an encouragement to meet the pair of them. To be honest, after being sick and in recovery most the summer, I’ve been trying to pull my life together; I struggle sometimes, not knowing what’s next. Each doctor appointment feels like an unset timebomb. But compared to this special student, my issues sure are minor.
